Patrice M. Thomas has over 20 years of professional
counseling experience. She received a master's degree in
guidance and counseling from Northern State College, Aberdeen,
SD and the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND. She also has
an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota,
Minneapolis.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Professional
Clinical Counselor within the State Of North Dakota and a
New Life Network Provider.
Her experience encompasses but is not limited to working
with people who struggle with mood and affective disorders
(depression, anxiety, panic attacks), couples, parenting
and pre-marital concerns. She has experience working with
victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence and problems
related to co-dependency, relationships, grief and loss,
life transitions, post abortive conflicts and spiritual concerns.
Ms. Thomas also has several years experience working with
individuals and families who have serious mental illness.
She counsels from a Christian perspective.
Patrice is a native of Minnesota and has lived in Bismarck
since 1979. She and her husband, Steve have two sons, Gabriel
and Patrick. She was employed for several years with the
State of North Dakota in various counseling positions. She
also was employed with other public and private organizations
including Lutheran Social Services and Missouri Slope Area
wide United Way.
She is a member of the North Dakota Counseling Association,
the North Dakota Mental Health Counselor's Association and
the American Association of Christian Counselors.
In her leisure time, Patrice enjoys corresponding with her
sons, one who lives in Fargo, ND and the other who lives
in Des Moines, IA. She likes to run long distance, plays
tennis and bikes occasionally and writes periodic letters
to the editor of Bismarck's local newspaper. She and her
husband attend Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bismarck.
