Grace Tanis, Graduate Counseling Intern
Grace is originally from a small town in South Dakota. Since 2020, Grace has lived and gotten married in Bismarck, ND. She is the youngest of 3 children and grew up living the life of a farmer's daughter.

        Educational BackgroundGrace received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Mary. Settling into Bismarck, Grace is continuing her education at the University of Mary. She's currently in her 2nd year of graduate school and plans to graduate in April 2026 with her Clinical Counseling degree.

        Professional ExperienceGrace has completed 4 months of practicum experience at Decoteau Trauma Informed Care & Practice. During this time, she sat in on counseling sessions and offered appropriate skills and coping strategies. Through this practicum experience, Grace worked with individuals struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.

        Treatment ApproachesGrace likes to use an integrative approach consisting of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Adlerian therapy, and occasional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
